The Kiwanis Club of Riverdale is pleased to present

Festival to be held on January 15th, 16th, 22nd,
& 23rd, 2011. All sponsors will be

Show your support for this great, educational, community

organization. This will be the tenth
annual Faire. We have not solicited
openly for sponsors in the past, but due to our change of venue, we are
reaching out to the community for the help we need to ensure this fabulous
event will continue to flourish. We
hope that, whether you are a first time supporter of the Faire, or one of the
many people who have helped us over the years, you will continue to come and
enjoy the Faire and support the work that the Kiwanis Club of Riverdale is
doing here in Lee County.
Each year we hope to make the Faire bigger and more
enjoyable, and each year we hope to bring other sponsors on board to further
our efforts in helping the children and needful families in Lee County. We hope

Who we are.
Eleven years ago, the Kiwanis Club of Riverdale Florida,
District 19, was searching for a more stable and productive method to raise
funds for our charity work in Lee County.
At that time we had been for many years producing the Country Christmas
for Kids Program. This was a program to
bring the joy of Christmas to as many Children as possible in our area. Although we had many dedicated and wonderful
sponsors for the Kiwanis Club and its’ work it became more and more difficult
to raise the funds necessary to continue the program. The Kiwanis Club of Riverdale was not only responsible for the
“Country Christmas for Kids” program, but
the sponsor of the “Shots for
Tots” program, Thanksgiving Baskets, Christmas Dinners, several Buckingham
Exception School programs and various other programs such as school grants and
scholarships and involvement with the International Kiwanis Organization on the
Iodine Deficiency Program. Our many
programs put a financial strain on our club and our supporters.
It was at this time that the Fund Raising Chair and
Committee decided to begin producing an annual event at Lakes Park, “The
Kiwanis Medieval Faire”. Instead of going door to door to the local businesses
and to many individuals asking for donations we felt it would be more
productive and less burden on our friends if we engaged in a less intrusive
and, hopefully, more plentiful form of fund raising. The concept has been
successful. With the co-operation and sponsorship of Lee County Parks and
Recreation Department, since the second year, we have been able to continue our
programs without burdening our previous benefactors. It must be said that many of them are still actively involved
with our efforts and their support is gratefully acknowledged.
Our goals are simple and few.
Goal #1 we are dedicated to helping children in need and helping our
community.
Goal #2 we are dedicated to the re-enactment of a much loved time period
where chivalry and honor reign true and the dress and customs are admired by
all.
The Kiwanis Club of
Riverdale’s primary focus is to raise money to help children in need. The Kiwanis Club is made up of volunteers
from our community. The cost to set up,
not only an educational, but a superbly entertaining Faire over a year-long
span can be a very expensive endeavor.
Many of the entertainers and vendors who circuit these Faires are from
around the country and are in high demand.
We also have local entertainers and vendors which add to the community
involvement.
We are currently involved in the setup of our upcoming
Faire. This year the Lee County school
district is working with us. They will
be sponsoring our parking areas at Veteran’s Park and Lehigh Middle School.
The Kiwanis Club of Riverdale with the support of Lee
County Parks and Rec. has given this area the best educational and entertaining
Medieval Faire the county has ever hosted.
Last year we had over 10,000 people through our gates and expect at
least this amount at our new location
Since we are a non-profit organization with a 501 (
C ) 3 classification, our proceeds will be donated to
several different charities. The profits all go to the Kiwanis of Riverdale
Foundation Fund and are dispersed from there as needed. All
funds that are paid to support this great event are a tax write off. You
will receive a form to file with your taxes at the beginning of the year.
In order to run our Festival we are in need of corporate
and private sponsors to advertise within our program and throughout the
community. There are numerous ways to
aid this Festival and thus ensure the success of the event. Each sponsor’s logo will be seen on our
posters distributed throughout the Lee county area and surrounding counties.
The logo and company name will also appear on the faire program, friends of the
faire board and in some cases on the stage or area sponsored, as well as being
listed on our web site for a full year.
We have a number of sponsorship packages available, one of
which will fit your advertising budget, as well as give you a great charitable
tax write off.
